My main tool is the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
This is based on the philosophical statement: “People are not disturbed by things, but the view they take of them.” - Epictetus
The way we think determines how we feel and behave. CBT helps to identify current dysfunctional thought patterns and behaviours and to change them.
Cognitive therapy is:
- Problem oriented and goal focused
- Educational, to help the individual help her/himself
- transparent
- Practical – dealing with the here and now
A T. Beck Cognitive Therapy, which I also practice, based on the fact that the client and the therapist are equal partners, as the client is an expert of her/himself. This is why the client's active participation is absolutely required.
The client brings not only the problem, but also the solution itself, which can only be discovered when the client is open to take a look inside. More Information about CBT
